Contact the Building Department before any clearing, excavation, or building.

Step 1 - Development Order application. (If needed)
  • Fill out and return to the Building Department for approval.
  • If Planning board Approval is required the Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
  • A complete application is required 21 calendar days before the meeting.
  • If Commission approval required, the Commission meets on the following Tuesday.
Step 2 - Building Permit Application.
  • Fill out and return to Building Department for approval.
  • Residential Plans are reviewed within 5 working days and if approved Permit is issued.
  • Commercial plans take longer depending on the complexity of the project but not more than 30 days for normal projects. (Usually much less.)
